Building Windmill De Immigrant in Fulton, Illinois

April 15, 1999

Heiligerlee, The Netherlands - In the first week of April the Molema's finished their work on the 8 sides of the octagon for the Fulton beltmolen.

Windmill builder Guus Zantinga took these pictures himself , after hours, of the last of the 8 sides, ready to be disassembled and transported outside.

After working for more than 3 months, with their complete staff, on the Fulton octagon, the first shipment for the US is being prepared.

Shipment of the disassembled octagon is scheduled for the first part of May 1999. The Molemas will travel to the US to arrive on June 5th.
Monday morning June 7th, the trucks will arrive in Fulton with the first 3 containers holding the octagon.

A most exciting project will then come alive for the residents of Fulton as well.
Untill now only residents from Heiligerlee (the small village where the Molemas have their workshop) and the regional and national Dutch press walked in now and then to discuss and report on the progress.

June 7th of 1999 will be a day to remember for Fulton: the first day of the construction of their windmill...
